Ever wanted to install some new apps onto Apple Watch? Or perhaps you want to delete and remove apps from Apple Watch that you no longer want?

While Apple Watch comes with many great default apps bundled with the device, you can also install and remove third party apps too. So, we’re going to show you how to install apps and how to delete apps too from Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch has come a long way since it was first released in April of 2015. It was an exciting but uncertain start, but the wearable has turned into something that millions of people couldn’t live without today. It’s also been proven to save lives time and time again with various health features, something Apple is rightfully very proud about. Whether you’re installing a hot new fitness app or the app for your garage door, you need to get them onto that watch somehow.

How to Install Apps Onto Your Apple Watch

Installing apps on your watch is easier than ever thanks to the many watchOS updates over the years. And now you can do it right from your wrist.

  1. Press the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch to see your Home screen.
  2. Tap on the “App Store” icon to open it.
  3. Tap “Search” at the top of the screen and choose whether to dictate an app’s name or enter it using the Scribble feature. Tap the one you would like to install.
  4. Alternatively, scroll down to view the featured apps and tap the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap the price if the app is to be paid for, or “Get” if it’s free.
  6. Double-click the Side button when you are prompted to. You may also need to enter your passcode and/or enter the password for your Apple ID, too.

The accompanying iPhone app will also automatically be downloaded if you don’t already have it installed.

You can also install apps onto your Apple Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone if you prefer, which is also how you install apps onto the device in earlier watchOS versions and the earliest Apple Watch models.

How to Remove Apps From Your Apple Watch

Removing apps from your Apple Watch is very similar to deleting them from an iPhone or iPad depending on which app view you are using.

  1. Press the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch to see your Home screen.
  2. If you’re using the grid view, tap and hold the app you want to remove. Tap the cross icon and then tap “Delete App” to confirm.
  3. If you’re using the list view, swipe the app that you want to remove to the left. Then tap the red trash can button.
  4. Press the Digital Crown to return to your normal app view.
    1. And there you have it, now you’ve learned how to uninstall apps from Apple Watch too.

There’s tons to do with your Apple Watch once you have the right apps installed.

Make sure your AirPods are paired for a great, wireless listening experience.

There’s a lot to learn, too, but if you follow our guides you’ll be using your watch as an alarm, unlocking your Mac with Apple Watch, without entering a password, and more in no time at all.
